Barnaby Winslow, updating his characterful property in the highly desirable Summertown area of Oxford, envisioned a space that seamlessly blended rustic architectural details with modern British elegance. He chose stunning soft green shaker-style cabinetry, perfectly complementing the exposed brick wall and the warm, textured plaster finish on the adjacent walls. To bring a bright, refined touch to this beautifully textured space, he required a classic surface. The layout is masterfully designed beneath a large skylight, flooding the workspace with natural daylight. The elegant white quartz flows seamlessly along the perimeter units, housing a sleek, flush-mounted induction hob. Further along, an undermount stainless steel sink is perfectly integrated beneath the large window, accompanied by a traditional brass mixer tap that elegantly ties into the room’s warm tones.

The undeniable centrepiece of this Oxford kitchen is the massive central island. Wrapped entirely in Mono Calacatta Eternal Grey, it features a beautifully subtle grey base that contrasts effortlessly with the green perimeter units. This expansive surface provides an incredible preparation and dining area, showcasing the stone’s delicate grey veins on a grand scale.
