Mono Irini
A distinctive quartz surface with a detailed natural-stone appearance, combining soft neutral tones with textured movement. Its durable finish makes it ideal for modern kitchens seeking a practical yet luxurious worktop design.
Joseph's Project
When Joseph and his fiancée started planning the finishing touches for their Oxford kitchen, the worktops quickly became the part that would decide the whole mood of the room. The cabinetry was already sleek and neutral; the large island gave the kitchen a strong central shape, and the black range cooker added contrast. What the space needed was a surface with enough detail to bring everything together without making the room feel too busy.
Mono Irini was chosen for that reason. Its layered stone pattern has a soft grey base with scattered mineral-like movement, giving the worktops a natural, textured character. Unlike a plain white or heavily veined quartz, this design sits somewhere in between — calm enough for a modern kitchen, but detailed enough to become a feature.
The island was the main focus of the installation. Its wide surface needed to feel practical for preparation, serving, and everyday use, but it also had to look considered from the open side of the room. The Mono Irini quartz gives the island a strong, polished finish, with the pattern spreading evenly across the top and creating a sense of depth under the light from the garden doors.
The same quartz continues along the back run of cabinets, creating a long, clean working surface around the range cooker and preparation areas. One of the most important parts of the project was the matching splashback. By carrying the material up the wall beneath the upper cabinets, the kitchen gains a more complete and custom-made appearance. The textured detail in the quartz works especially well here, adding interest to the wall while still keeping the overall palette soft and controlled.
For Joseph and his fiancée, the decision was not just about choosing a beautiful surface. They wanted a luxury kitchen worktop that could handle a real kitchen — cooking, cleaning, hosting, and daily routines — without losing its polished look. The speckled, natural movement of Mono Irini also makes it a practical choice, as the pattern feels forgiving while still looking premium.
When thinking about quartz worktop cost, this Oxford project is a good example of why material choice matters. The new quartz did more than replace the previous surfaces; it gave the kitchen definition. The island feels more finished, the splashback looks intentional, and the worktop now connects the cabinetry, appliances, and open-plan layout with a consistent, high-quality finish.
In this Oxford home, Mono Irini brings a grounded, contemporary feel to the kitchen. Its soft grey tones, detailed texture, and durable polished surface create a practical yet refined result — a worktop choice that feels designed for everyday life, not just for photographs.
Testimonial
The quartz has given the kitchen a much more complete and considered look. The island now feels like a real centrepiece, and the matching splashback adds the kind of detail that makes the whole space feel finished.
