Foster's Project

For the Foster family, the worktop change was the detail that brought a more finished and considered look to their Oxford kitchen. The room already had a strong personality, with deep navy cabinetry, slim brass handles, glossy black metro tiles, warm wood flooring, and a white undermount sink paired with a matt black tap. The darker palette gave the space character, but the worktops needed to introduce brightness, warmth, and a softer visual balance.

Arabescato Brown was chosen for its creamy base and flowing brown veining, which works beautifully against the navy units and black tiled splashback. The pattern adds natural movement across the surface without overpowering the room, while the polished finish helps reflect light around the kitchen. On the breakfast-bar section, the rounded end gives the worktop a softer and more practical shape, making the area feel more comfortable for everyday family use.

The quartz was continued across the main hob run, around the sink area, and up the low splashback, creating a consistent finish throughout the space. This detail helps connect the different work zones, from cooking to preparation and washing up, while keeping the overall design clean and cohesive. As a Kitchen worktop specialist, the focus was on making the new surfaces feel elegant, durable, and practical without taking away from the bold character of the kitchen.

The finished result gives the Foster family a kitchen that feels brighter, warmer, and more refined, while still keeping the strong navy-and-black style that makes the space distinctive.
