Kapoor Family Project

The Kapoor family had recently settled into their new Oxford home, a lively household of five where the kitchen quickly became the busiest and most social space in the house. With children, relatives, and friends constantly passing through, the kitchen needed to feel practical, durable, and able to support everyday family life. For them, choosing the best quartz worktop was an important step in creating a surface that could handle constant use while still feeling refined and timeless.

The design already had a strong identity, with deep green cabinetry, warm orange-toned walls, and matte gold handles and tapware that added a soft but elegant contrast. Natural light filled the space through the large window, bouncing across the room and highlighting the mix of colours and textures.

We’ve installed 20mm Calacatta Gold quartz for the worktops and island, complete with matching upstands. The natural light pouring into the space really brings the soft golden veining to life, adding warmth and character while keeping that clean, modern feel. This subtle movement in the stone enhances the overall sense of balance in the room, aligning beautifully with the idea of modern premium kitchen worktops.

The quartz runs across the main preparation runs, sink area, and cooking zone, creating a continuous surface that supports the rhythm of a busy kitchen. Its polished finish reflects daylight coming through the window and garden doors, helping the space feel more open and balanced throughout the day.

The combination of green cabinetry, orange walls, and matte gold details is grounded by the softness of the quartz, bringing everything together without overpowering the character of the room. In the Kapoor family home, the worktop change became the detail that refined the space rather than reinventing it.
