Frederick Fairfax, updating his beautiful property in the desirable Marshalswick area of St Albans, aimed to blend traditional British charm with clean, contemporary lines. He selected stylish grey shaker-style base units to ground the space with a warm, neutral tone. To perfectly contrast these cabinets and maximise the natural light flowing from the adjacent glass doors, he required a pristine, bright surface. As a leading kitchen worktop specialist, we knew that Mono Capri White quartz would provide the ultimate luminous canvas.

The linear design flawlessly marries aesthetics and high functionality. The pristine white quartz flows seamlessly across the grey cabinetry, providing an expansive preparation area. It elegantly accommodates a modern flush-mounted induction hob and a sleek stainless steel double undermount sink, paired with a contemporary swan-neck mixer tap.

A key architectural feature of this installation is the intelligent use of matching quartz upstands. Not only do they run neatly along the main back wall to protect the freshly painted surfaces, but they also meticulously wrap around the boxed-in structural pillar. This creates a highly cohesive and refined finish that ties the whole room together effortlessly.
