When Clara and Theo Morgan first started working on their Coventry kitchen, the layout already had the makings of a beautiful space. The room had generous natural light, warm herringbone flooring, and a calm modern palette, but one detail was going to decide whether the kitchen felt complete or simply unfinished: the worktops.

They wanted the surfaces to feel clean, elegant, and architectural without making the kitchen look cold. With the large island sitting at the centre of the room, the worktop needed to do more than provide a practical surface. It had to become the visual anchor of the whole space.

That is where Calacatta Borghini became the right choice. For Clara and Theo, choosing the best quartz worktop was about finding a surface that could bring together durability, visual impact, and a refined marble-inspired finish.

The quartz was installed across the main island, with a striking waterfall finish that carries the veining down the side panels and gives the island a sculptural, furniture-like presence. The soft white base and elegant grey veining work beautifully with the natural wood floor, keeping the kitchen bright while adding movement and depth.

The island also includes a sleek black hob, creating a sharp contrast against the pale quartz. This detail gives the surface a modern, minimal feel while still keeping the overall kitchen calm and refined.

Around the sink area, the same quartz continues across the worktop and into the splashback, helping the smaller run feel considered and connected to the rest of the room. The black tap, dark sink, fluted glass wall cabinets, and warm timber details around the doorway add contrast, while the quartz keeps everything feeling balanced.

For Clara and Theo, the worktop change was the moment the kitchen started to feel like a finished room. It brought light, structure, and a sense of quality into the space without needing to overcomplicate the design.
