Alistair Beaumont, modernising his characterful property in the historic Derngate area of Northampton, wanted a kitchen that respected the building’s heritage whilst offering sleek, contemporary functionality. He paired striking, dark wood-effect handleless base units with original timber flooring to create a warm, textured foundation. To contrast beautifully with these dark tones and reflect the natural light pouring in from the magnificent multi-paned window, he required a brilliant, luminous surface. As experts in bespoke stone fabrication, we knew Mono Capri White would provide the perfect, pristine canvas.

The design relies on a highly efficient L-shaped layout that maximises both workspace and the stunning view of the courtyard garden. The bright white quartz flows seamlessly across the dark cabinets, flawlessly housing a sleek stainless steel gas hob. Positioned perfectly beneath the large feature window is an undermount stainless steel sink, enhanced by bespoke drainage grooves that have been meticulously routed directly into the stone.

To complete the clean, architectural finish, matching Mono Capri White quartz upstands run seamlessly along the perimeter. This subtle detail elegantly frames the workspace and protects the freshly painted walls without detracting from the room’s traditional architectural charm.
