Completed in February 2025, this contemporary kitchen renovation marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Ethan Carter, a software engineer who had recently purchased his first home in Reading after spending several years renting across Berkshire.

While the property already offered a modern open-plan layout, Ethan wanted the kitchen to feel more polished and better suited to his lifestyle before fully settling into the house. As someone who enjoys cooking, entertaining friends, and occasionally working from home, having a practical and spacious worktop was an important part of his vision.

To achieve the clean, contemporary look he had in mind, Mono Arctic Starburst quartz was selected for the kitchen worktops, island, splashback, and preparation areas. The bright surface instantly transformed the space, creating a striking contrast against the dark cabinetry while helping to maximise light throughout the room.

Particular attention was given to the large central island, which now serves as the heart of the kitchen. Whether preparing meals, catching up with friends over coffee, or simply enjoying everyday life at home, the generous surface provides both functionality and style.
