Maxwell Davenport, undertaking a major architectural renovation of his property in the Langley area of Slough, aimed to create a breathtaking, ultra-modern culinary space that flowed seamlessly into his outdoor garden. To ground the bright, airy room, he incorporated a bank of striking, dark-wood, handleless tall cabinets. To contrast perfectly with these dark textures and reflect the abundant natural light pouring in through the large skylight and expansive sliding glass doors, he required a pristine, statement surface. As a leading kitchen worktop specialist, we knew Calacatta Eternal Grey Quartz would provide the ultimate luminous canvas.

The undeniable masterpiece of this Slough kitchen is the monumental central island. Designed without perimeter base units to maintain a minimalist aesthetic, the island serves as the sole preparation and focal point. Wrapped in Calacatta Eternal Grey, it features spectacular waterfall edges on both sides, where the sweeping grey veins cascade flawlessly from the horizontal work surface down to the large-format tiled floor.

This expansive and highly functional island seamlessly houses a sleek stainless steel undermount sink, perfectly paired with a modern swan-neck mixer tap, ensuring that the sightlines across the room and out into the garden remain completely unobstructed.
