Priya Sharma, expanding her lovely family home on Nascot Wood Road in Watford, desired a brilliantly bright, open-plan extension to seamlessly connect her living space with the garden. During the early design stage, she explored options in a local worktop showroom in the UK to better understand how different quartz finishes would behave under natural light and daily use.

To contrast the deep espresso cabinetry of her central island, she required a surface that was spotlessly pure and highly reflective. Ultra White quartz was selected as the ultimate bespoke choice, bringing maximum luminosity and a crisp, modern edge to the heart of the architectural space.

The focal point of this stunning renovation is the expansive central island. Topped with the pure, unblemished Ultra White quartz, the island provides a generous preparation area that integrates a sleek, flush-mounted induction hob. This bright choice for quartz worktops in Watford creates a striking contrast against the dark wood cabinetry, enhancing the warm brass handles and deep storage detailing.

Along the perimeter, soft cream shaker-style cabinetry houses integrated appliances and a classic ceramic Belfast sink. The crisp quartz continues seamlessly across the run, reinforcing a clean and continuous visual flow that enhances the sense of space.

For this project, careful consideration of quartz worktop colours played a key role in achieving the right balance between brightness, warmth, and architectural contrast throughout the kitchen.

Bathed in natural daylight from oversized skylights and glazed doors, the entire space feels open, refined, and perfectly connected to the garden beyond.
