Anouk & Fleur's Project

Having recently moved from the Netherlands to Chelmsford, Anouk and her cousin Fleur wanted to create a kitchen that felt both welcoming and effortlessly stylish. Both share a passion for baking, coffee mornings, and hosting family gatherings, so the space needed to work just as well for everyday cooking as it did for entertaining guests. As a trusted kitchen worktop specialist, Monoluxworktops helped bring their vision to life, creating a bright and characterful kitchen centred around beautifully detailed quartz surfaces.

The shaker-style cabinetry provides a timeless foundation, while the striking veining of Mono Arabescato Brown introduces movement and character throughout the room. The warm brown and soft grey tones running across the bright surface create a refined contrast against the crisp white cabinetry, giving the kitchen a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere.

Rather than relying on bold colours, the design uses texture, pattern, and proportion to create visual interest. The waterfall breakfast bar becomes a natural focal point, while the full-height splashbacks add continuity and enhance the marble-inspired aesthetic. Natural daylight from multiple windows further highlights the intricate veining, allowing the surface to become a defining feature of the room.

To maximise visual impact, a substantial 30mm quartz profile was used throughout the installation, including the waterfall end panel and matching splashbacks. The added depth reinforces the premium feel of the kitchen while creating a seamless, bespoke finish that elevates the entire space.
