Samantha Lowe, residing in a contemporary property with a striking glass extension on Kimbolton Road in Bedford, wanted to maximise the connection between her modern open-plan kitchen and her beautifully landscaped garden. She envisioned a massive central island that could serve as the primary social hub without dominating the room’s natural light. Bianco Carrara quartz was chosen for its subtle, light-reflecting elegance and robust stain resistance, perfectly balancing her desire for a high-end, classic aesthetic with everyday practicality.

The undisputed focal point of this stunning architectural space is the expansive central island, clad entirely in the delicate Bianco Carrara quartz. This generous worktop comfortably accommodates four luxurious navy blue quilted bar stools, creating an inviting space for entertaining guests or enjoying a morning coffee whilst taking in the uninterrupted garden views. The crisp, marble-effect surface contrasts brilliantly with the bespoke dark grey cabinetry beneath, anchoring the bright and airy room with a touch of dramatic sophistication.

To maintain a sleek, uncluttered profile, a highly practical stainless-steel undermount sink is seamlessly integrated directly into the island. The quartz surface has been masterfully routed with bespoke drainage grooves, blending exceptional British craftsmanship with essential functionality.
