Located in the vibrant city of Brighton, this contemporary kitchen project was completed in September 2025 for Layla Khalidi, a young Palestinian student who had recently moved to the UK to pursue her dream of building a career in the creative media and digital marketing industry. Having secured a place at university and her first apartment, Layla wanted a space that felt calm, organised, and inspiring as she stepped into a new chapter of independence. To complete this bright and modern environment, the space features premium quartz worktops in Brighton, adding a touch of sleek elegance to her new home.

While the apartment already offered a modern layout, the kitchen needed more warmth and refinement to become a place where she could comfortably study, cook, and spend time with friends. The design focused on achieving a clean, contemporary feel that remained practical for everyday student living.

To ensure a high-quality finish, Monolux Worktops handled the installation and detailing, bringing precision and consistency to every surface throughout the kitchen.

When planning the project, considerations such as quartz worktop costs also played a key role in balancing design ambitions with long-term practicality and value.

Mono Arctic Starburst quartz was chosen for the worktops, splashback, and island surfaces. Its crisp white base and subtle textural detailing immediately lifted the space, creating a bright contrast against the charcoal cabinetry while maintaining a minimalist, architectural feel. The surface adds depth without visual clutter, helping the kitchen feel both modern and highly functional.

The island became the central feature of the space, supporting everything from morning coffee and meal prep to study sessions and casual evenings with friends. Extending seamlessly across the worktops and splashback, the quartz creates a continuous visual flow that enhances the sense of openness throughout the kitchen.

The final result is a refined, contemporary kitchen that reflects Layla’s independence and ambition, offering a space that feels equally suited to academic life and future professional growth.
