Elliot Hawthorne's Project

This Brighton kitchen belongs to a shared home occupied by two friends — one of them, Elliot Hawthorne, a personal trainer working between Brighton and London. The other has recently relocated to the city, and for both of them, home is more of a short stop between busy schedules rather than a fixed routine.

Because of this lifestyle, the kitchen needed to feel simple, durable, and visually clean — a space that always looks put together even when it’s not in constant use.

The interior already had a strong base: deep blue cabinetry bringing depth and contrast, exposed brick-style splashback tiles adding texture, and a black range cooker anchoring the cooking zone. The layout is compact and practical, designed for quick everyday use rather than heavy cooking routines.

To complete the design, Mono Calacatta Gold quartz was chosen as the defining surface.

Installed across the full worktop layout including sink run and preparation areas, the quartz introduces a soft white base enriched with gentle golden veining. It lifts the darker cabinetry, adding brightness and balance while keeping the overall look calm and structured.

A matching Hob Splashback was also installed behind the cooking area, continuing seamlessly across the hob and sink zones, ensuring both protection and visual continuity throughout the kitchen.

The polished finish reflects natural daylight from the window, helping the space feel more open throughout the day. The continuous quartz layout keeps the design cohesive, practical, and easy to maintain.

For a home shaped by constant movement and convenience, the result reflects the essence of modern luxury kitchen worktops — functional, durable, and effortlessly refined.
