Clara Hayes, a passionate home baker, wanted to transform the kitchen of her property in Woughton on the Green, Milton Keynes. She envisioned a dramatic yet welcoming space, opting for bold, dark green cabinetry. However, to balance these deep tones and provide a resilient, bright surface for rolling pastry and daily meal prep, she needed the perfect worktop. Ethereal Glow quartz, with its luminous white base and subtle golden veining, was the ideal choice to bounce light around the room whilst offering exceptional stain and scratch resistance against baking ingredients.

The completed kitchen is a triumph of classic British design blended with modern flair. The dark green shaker-style units wrap around the room in a highly functional layout, perfectly offset by the brilliant white Ethereal Glow quartz worktops. This exquisite stone also tops the neat central island, creating an inviting focal point for casual morning coffees on the plush bar stools. The quartz’s golden veining beautifully echoes the luxurious brass hardware, which is thoughtfully featured on the cabinet handles, the elegant mixer tap, and the bespoke strapping on the extractor hood.

Contrasting beautifully with the glossy white textured tile splashback, the smooth quartz provides an immaculate preparation area. Together with the warm wooden flooring and striking black appliances, the space feels incredibly cohesive, characterful, and distinctly sophisticated.
