Kavita Sharma, undertaking a beautiful extension on his property in the leafy Preston Park area of Brighton, sought to create a bright, inviting, and highly sociable culinary space. He chose sophisticated dark grey shaker-style cabinetry to ground the room with a sense of classic British elegance. To perfectly contrast these deep, matte units and maximise the natural light flooding in from the overhead skylight and the stunning black Crittall-style garden doors, he needed a highly reflective surface. Mono Arctic Starburst quartz worktop was the ideal choice to illuminate the space and add a touch of modern sparkle.

The true heart of this Brighton kitchen is the expansive central island. Like many beautifully designed quartz worktops in Brighton, it was created to provide a bright, open space that works just as well for everyday family life as it does for entertaining. Completely wrapped in the dazzling white quartz, the island provides an immense, uninterrupted zone for food preparation while efficiently housing a sleek double undermount stainless steel sink directly opposite the main cooking run.

A standout bespoke feature of this installation is the custom-fabricated matching quartz cover board resting on the island. Meticulously cut from the same slab, this clever addition serves as a seamless chopping board or flush cover, elevating the tailored feel of the kitchen. Along the perimeter, the pristine quartz flows seamlessly beneath the wall units, complemented by matching upstands that provide a crisp, architectural seal against the freshly painted walls.
