Sebastian Ashwood Project

Sebastian Ashwood, updating his beautiful property in the desirable Clifton area of Bristol, aimed to create a bright, contemporary culinary space that maximised natural light. He selected sleek, white high-gloss handleless cabinetry to establish a highly reflective, minimalist foundation, beautifully complemented by soft pastel green walls and warm wood-effect flooring. To tie this refreshing colour palette together and add a touch of organic luxury, he required a striking statement surface. We knew that Mono Calacatta Borghini quartz would provide the ultimate luminous canvas.

The U-shaped design is incredibly efficient, naturally drawing the eye towards the stunning bay window at the far end of the room. The pristine Mono Calacatta Borghini quartz flows seamlessly across the base units, elegantly accommodating a modern gas hob. Positioned perfectly within the bay window is a sleek stainless steel undermount sink, offering a wonderful, unobstructed view over the garden.

A key architectural feature of this installation is the intelligent use of the stone around the complex bay window area. The quartz travels seamlessly upwards to form matching upstands around the entire perimeter and beautifully extends to create fully clad, integrated quartz window sills across all three window panels. This creates a highly cohesive, wipe-clean finish that ties the whole room together effortlessly.
