William Sterling, a culinary enthusiast living in a beautiful Victorian terrace on Kensington Park Road, wanted to modernise his classic kitchen. He needed a central hub that could withstand the rigours of heavy cooking and entertaining, without sacrificing the elegant aesthetic of his London home. Choosing Calacatta Eternal Grey quartz provided the perfect solution: a robust, non-porous surface that beautifully mimics high-end marble while standing up to daily family life effortlessly.

The undeniable focal point of this bespoke space is the expansive central island, painted in a striking deep navy blue. This bold colour brilliantly anchors the room and creates a dramatic contrast with the bright Calacatta Eternal Grey worktop. The island is intelligently designed for socialising, comfortably accommodating a row of curved, natural wood bar stools. These organic wooden tones soften the crisp lines of the stone and add a wonderful, welcoming texture to the room.

Along the perimeter, soft white shaker-style cabinetry is beautifully paired with a matching Calacatta Eternal Grey splashback. This continuous flow of luxurious stone elegantly frames a traditional dark range cooker, whilst a practical undermount double sink and a classic bronze-finish mixer tap complete the sophisticated, heritage-meets-modern aesthetic.
