Farah Rahman, living in a contemporary coastal apartment on West Overcliff Drive in Bournemouth, wanted a sleek, highly functional kitchen that reflected her modern lifestyle. During the early planning stage, she visited a kitchen worktop showroom in the UK to explore different surface finishes and understand how various quartz options would respond to natural seaside light.

As someone who enjoys hosting weekend gatherings by the coast, she needed a bright and durable surface that could handle frequent use while pairing seamlessly with her dark, glossy cabinetry. Misterio Gold quartz was selected as the ideal choice, bringing a refined brightness and subtle golden warmth into the heart of the space.

The centre of the kitchen is defined by a practical island wrapped in Misterio Gold, a stunning choice for quartz worktops in Bournemouth. This pristine surface integrates a stainless-steel undermount sink and a professional-style mixer tap, while expertly routed drainage grooves enhance functionality without disrupting the clean aesthetic. Open shelving at the end of the island adds a relaxed, usable detail that suits everyday living.

Across the perimeter, dark grey handleless gloss cabinets create a strong contrast that allows the quartz to stand out.
