Chloe Ashford's Project

For Chloe Ashford, the goal was never to create a kitchen that demanded attention. Her West London home already had generous proportions, warm oak cabinetry, and an open-plan layout. What it needed was a surface that could introduce character while preserving the calm, contemporary feel of the space.

While exploring different options for quartz worktops in London, Chloe found herself drawn to surfaces that offered more personality than a standard grey finish. After comparing several materials, she realised the best designs combined subtle elegance with everyday practicality rather than dramatic patterns.

That search eventually led her to the Silver Starburst quartz worktop.

Its soft grey base and delicate reflective particles complement the warmth of the timber cabinetry without overpowering the design. One of the defining qualities of the surface is the way it interacts with natural light, introducing subtle depth and movement throughout the day while maintaining the kitchen’s calm, understated character.

The spacious island became the centrepiece of the room, with the same surface continuing across the perimeter worktops, splashback, and upstands to create a seamless, cohesive finish.

As part of our approach to Luxury Kitchen Worktops, the focus was on combining timeless design with expert craftsmanship, proving that carefully chosen materials can transform a space without relying on bold colours or dramatic veining.
