How to Measure for Your Quartz Worktop

Getting an initial quotation for your new quartz worktop is easier than you might think. You do not need to provide professional templating measurements at this stage. We simply need enough information to understand the shape and approximate size of your worktop.

There are two simple ways to send us the information we need.

Option 1: Send Us Your Kitchen Plan

If you are having a new kitchen designed, your kitchen supplier or designer will usually provide a detailed kitchen plan. This plan should show the layout, dimensions and measurements of each section that requires a worktop.

Simply:

  • Choose your favourite quartz worktop from our collection.
  • Save your kitchen plan as a PDF file.
  • Upload the plan through our quotation form.
  • Tell us about any additional requirements, such as a splashback, upstands or a windowsill.

Once we receive your plan, our team can review the measurements, calculate the approximate amount of quartz required and guide you through the next steps.

You do not need to calculate the total square metre area yourself. We will take care of that for you.

Option 2: Measure Your Existing Worktop

If you do not have a kitchen plan, you can take some simple measurements of your existing worktop.

You will need:

  • A tape measure
  • A pencil or pen
  • A sheet of paper
  • A ruler or straight edge
  • A phone or camera for taking reference photographs

Draw a basic outline of your kitchen and show each section that requires a quartz worktop. Your drawing does not need to be professionally designed. A clear, simple sketch is enough.

Measure the length and depth of each separate worktop section in millimetres and write the measurements beside the corresponding area on your drawing. Please measure each section individually rather than providing one overall measurement for the entire kitchen.

For example:

  • Main worktop: 2400 mm × 620 mm
  • Sink section: 1800 mm × 620 mm
  • Kitchen island: 2000 mm × 900 mm
  • Breakfast bar: 1500 mm × 700 mm

Taking a few clear photographs of the kitchen can also help us understand the layout, corners and positioning of appliances.

Measuring Splashbacks, Upstands and Window Sills

Please include any additional quartz features you would like us to quote for.

For each item, provide the length and height in millimetres:

  • Splashbacks: Measure the width and height of each area.
  • Upstands: Measure the total length required and your preferred height.
  • Window sills: Measure the length and depth of the sill.
  • Full-height wall panels: Measure the width and height of each individual section.
  • Waterfall ends: Tell us which side of the island or worktop requires the quartz to continue down to the floor.

If there are sockets, switches, windows or other features within a splashback area, show their approximate positions on your drawing or photographs.

Choose Your Worktop Design Options

Once you have selected your preferred quartz, visit our Design Options page to review the available finishing details.

You can tell us your preferences for:

  • Worktop thickness
  • Edge profile
  • Polished or finished edges
  • Undermount or overmount sink cut-outs
  • Drainer grooves
  • Tap holes
  • Hob cut-outs
  • Socket cut-outs
  • Upstands
  • Splashbacks
  • Waterfall ends

Do not worry if you are unsure which options are suitable for your kitchen. Send us the information you have, and our team will help you choose the most appropriate details.

What Happens After You Submit Your Measurements?

After receiving your kitchen plan or measurements, we will review the information and prepare an initial quotation based on the details provided.

These measurements are used for estimating purposes only. Before your quartz worktop is manufactured, our professional templating team will visit the property to take precise final measurements. This ensures that the finished worktop fits correctly around walls, cabinets, sinks, hobs and other kitchen features.

Simply choose your quartz, send us your plan or measurements, and let our team take care of the rest.
