This High Wycombe kitchen sits within a beautifully refurbished home where natural light plays a central role in shaping the atmosphere. Large windows with traditional leaded glazing bring a soft pattern of daylight into the space, highlighting the warm timber flooring and classic shaker cabinetry.

The brief for this project was led by Daniel Carter, a homeowner who wanted to bring a stronger sense of character into his kitchen without losing its calm and balanced feel. The homeowners wanted something expressive yet refined — a material that would sit comfortably within a timeless, family-focused kitchen.

That’s where Calacatta Viola quartz became the defining feature.

We installed this striking quartz across the full L-shaped layout, including the sink run, preparation areas, and cooking zone, finished with matching upstands for a seamless and continuous look. The bold violet veining moves naturally across the surface, creating depth and visual interest, especially as it reacts to the shifting daylight from the garden-facing windows.

The contrast between the soft cabinetry, warm flooring, and expressive stone brings a layered sense of design — calm in structure, but artistic in detail. The kitchen island and extended runs allow the veining to flow uninterrupted, giving the impression of a naturally formed surface throughout the space.

As a trusted kitchen worktop specialist, careful attention was given to alignment and templating, ensuring the pattern transitions feel organic and uninterrupted across joins.
