Howard and Ella, living in a beautiful character property on Pewley Way in Guildford, required a highly durable worktop solution to complete their country-style kitchen renovation. As avid cooks who regularly use their large traditional AGA, they needed a surface that was completely non-porous and capable of handling intense daily meal preparation. They selected Black Sparkle quartz for its robust, low-maintenance properties and its brilliant reflective flecks, which effortlessly elevate the room’s traditional aesthetic.

This expansive kitchen perfectly balances heritage charm with modern functionality. The stunning Black Sparkle quartz worktops run along the perimeter, providing a spectacular, mirror-like finish that beautifully reflects the ceiling downlights and natural daylight from the windows. This deep, glittering surface creates a striking contrast against the bespoke navy blue shaker cabinetry and the soft, sage green walls.

The quartz is masterfully utilised not only as a generous preparation area but also as a seamless, easy-to-clean splashback directly behind the impressive black AGA cooker. This bespoke matching splashback protects the wall from cooking splashes whilst tying the entire dark colour palette together. Finished with matching quartz upstands, a traditional Belfast sink, and a classic chrome bridge tap, the space is a true testament to timeless British design.
